Linear transducers

Lineare transducers

Linear incremental encoders, potentiometer and magnetostrictive transducers

Linear transducers follow linear displacement measurements. Potentiometers are formed by a wire or a metal layer wrapped in an insulating support and by a movable contact that slides along the conductor. The principle of operation is based on calculating the variation of the resistance caused by the displacement of the object concerned within the electrical circuit. Eltra offers shaft or cursor versions, with different mounting methods (brackets, flanges, or self-adjusting ball joints) and different levels of IP protection to meet the widest possible range of application fields. Eltra's catalog also includes magnetostrictive transducers, with integrated contactless magnetic sensor technology, representing the evolution of linear potentiometers as they enhance sensor performance and have a wide variety of electronic outputs (analog, digital, fieldbus) available.
