Absolute Encoders

An absolute encoder remembers position information when power is removed from the encoder. The encoder position is immediately available when the power is turned on. The relationship between the value of the encoder and the physical position of the controlled machine is set during assembly; the system does not need to return to a calibration point to maintain position accuracy.
